Doing Hard Things Together

Every year, we sponsor the Crumbley 5K. It's one of those mornings we circle on the calendar early — a race put on by our friends at Fit Body Boot Camp in Watkinsville, and one that exists for a reason bigger than the finish line. It raises support for several local families each year who need their neighbors beside them as they walk through real trials, or as they battle terminal illness.

This year, one moment stayed with us. The Crumbley family — the family the original 5K was created to support during a challenging season of their own — came to climb with us. They ran the race, then they came to the wall. Watching them tie in, chalk up, and take on something new together was the whole point of the day, all in one room.

There's something beautiful about a community finding fun, creative ways to show up for each other — running, climbing, laughing, and pushing ourselves alongside people who are carrying much heavier things. We can't always make someone's hard season easy. But we can show up, stand beside them, and do hard things together.

Thank you to Fit Body Boot Camp for building this tradition and for pushing our neighbors onward and upward so well, year after year. And thank you to everyone who ran, cheered, donated, or climbed. We'll be back at the starting line next year.
